Exploring the human costs of political success while also painting a hopeful picture of how regular Americans might take back their nation from performative ideologues and intolerant extremists, The Silent Majority tracks a painful political awakening during the Obama and Trump years.

Taylor Morrow is a simple suburban businessman doing his best to be a good husband and father, a self-identified member of the silent majority. Beginning as a relatively happy person with little concern about politics, a man who obeys the law and pays his taxes, reads a little news and gives some attention to how he votes, Taylor finds himself becoming enraged and disgusted by the divisive, hate-filled world he sees his children growing up into.

Rather than watch helplessly as the nation succumbs to the power of Donald Trump, Taylor decides to get in the game. Spurred on and advised by his friend, Sarah Daley, a notorious Republican strategist willing to working for a Democrat while her party comes to its senses, Taylor decides to give up his privacy and run for office. Reluctant at first to allow his political fears to push him into a business he considers ugly and immoral, Taylor eventually choses to expose his family to media scrutiny and himself to the emotionally harrowing life of outrage-driven politics, turning himself over to Sarah's tutelage and handing her a chunk of his soul in the process.

The Silent Majority traces Taylor's journey through the personal challenges and political obstacles he faces on his way to a seat in Congress, from his wife leaving him for a woman and his teenage son cutting him out of his life, to the tedium of fundraising, compromises on the issues, and relentless manipulation by his ostensible allies. He learns along the way how much he has to playact the politician to succeed and how thoroughly he has to sublimate his conscience to win elections before he can change the world.
